2006 is looking good already.....

The Browns are undefeated in 2006. The Bengals are winless. And though the season didnt go as well as i thought it would for my Cleveland Browns...6-10 aint too shabby for a new coach and a ton of injuries. As we always say...there is always next year.

Now for my 2006 New Years Resolutions:

1)Take one year off from the ingestion of alcoholic beverages.
2)Stop smoking (today...Jan 2nd is my last day)
3)Watch the diet, increase exercise, lose 35 pounds. The journey starts today...

Now I do realize that these are some of the biggest ones out there, and that this is not at all original. But in a way that makes it nice...think about it. Each day, we live completely different lives. And each year we all try to better ourselves...usually by following the same resolutions or variations thereof.

This big huge world we live in...is boiled down....to something very small when you think about it.

Two things to start off 2006: These are the things pissing me off right now:

Intelligent Design, and the way it is being thrown out there like a scientific fact. The religious right is trying to find a way to force their beliefs down our throats that much more.

The Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays debate: Listen, the reason this country was founded was Religious Freedom. (see this little thing called the 1st amendment) We are AMERICANS, not CHRISTIANS. Frankly, when you say Merry Christmas to a mass audience, all you do is alienate everyone who doesnt believe like you do. But, the Christians in this country, at least those who set themselves as leaders, say we are taking Christ out of Christmas. I dont agree with that, but the importance of Christmas is very different depending on who you are talking too(For Ex. Judaism, Muslim, Satanism) The Religious Right is so God Damned intolerant of others that it makes me sick. WHY DOES A RELIGION THAT PREACHES INCLUSION TO EVERYONE, WORK SO FUCKING HARD AT EXCLUDING EVERYONE. YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU ARE.

Ok enough rambling.

Lets set our eyes on what makes this the greatest Country in the world...

With that I give you the First Amendment of the United States Constitution:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
— The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
