and the results are in.....

NORMAL. I got this information late last week in a voicemail from my doctors nurse.

I will never go to them again. Ever. They treated what I considered to be a serious problem like it was a muffler shop.

AVOID : Bethesda Group Practice at Arrow Springs

Man, I love this country. The ability to say whatever I want.

Chuck, thanks for checking...and asking. I am doing well.

More to come on the life changing news as it becomes available.

In His name,
EJW

The hospital did essentially the same thing when Tina went in with chest pains. That is modern medicine. Get you in, get you out, do the absolute minimum required. Because that is how they get paid. A friend of mine who quit medical school at the start of his last year explained it, with the costs that doctors pay in malpractice insurance the only way a normal general practitioner makes money is by jamming in as many appointments as possible. In order to survive they have to get people in and out of the office in the shortest possible time possible. In order to free themselves up to see as many people as possible they will delegate everything they possibly can to assistants in order to free up more time to get patients in and out.

You can't really blame the doctor, it's the system that's the problem. If the doctor wants to make a living this is what they have to do.

Tina and Allie avoid a regular doctor for that reason. They go to a Physician's Assistant. They have essential all the same responsibility of a full doctor but a fraction of the overhead. They don't need to see nearly as many patients in order to turn a profit so they can afford to spend more time with the patients they do see.

Our PA is awesome, she'll spend 45 minutes to an hour easily with my wife and daughter, she's always on top of the follow up. She's just great. Plus she was an Army Doctor who did a tour in Iraq so she is extremely well qualified as a doctor (she got shipped to Iraq while in her last semester of Med School which is why she is not a full doctor).

So my suggestion for you to avoid real doctors and look for a good PA.

This is not something I am familiar with....when compared to traditional doctors, are they accepted by the insurance companies?

Oh yeah, insurance covers them. No problem there.
