smiled upon....again

David Gray and Aqualung played in Cincinnati last night. I was there.

There was one song I knew. I missed it in the drink line vying for my double call Jack and Coke. I felt like I was in a movie most of the evening. You know those movies where there show scenes of a concert and the band plays a few notes and the crowd goes wild...Thats how it felt. I looked at these people and thought...Do you really think David Gray is THAT GOOD????

I do not. I knew it wasnt my speed going in, and that should have been my first clue. Musically, great show. I really like Aqualung, they are a bit Coldplayesque. Check Aqualung out.

8 days agao I had been at the Nine Inch Nails show, and now I was here. It was a sad moment. I also remembered when just the previous year, well...November of 2004..Marilyn Manson had played inthe same venue (The Taft Theater). Marilyn Manson was amazing there...I had hoped for the same. Maybe next time.

The Taft Theater is beautiful, and a great intimate place to catch a show.

I did enjoy the show, I love live music. But there was a definite lack of power, anger, and energy that I crave at a show. I require a concert to take me away from my misery, to make me forget all my problems, to make me check out.

I was inside my head all night..and jesus, thats a scary ass place to be.

I did come up with a hell of an idea for a new book. But when doesnt that happen.

Lets do this again.....soon.
